Haleakala is a Sacred Volcano on Maui.

Ancient Hawaiians revere Haleakala as the home of Pele, the fire goddess of the volcano and creator of the Hawaiian Islands. Please respect the mountain with the greatest of care – do not trash, do not move rocks, do not stray off trails, do not feed animals, do not harm any plants, etc.

Reaching over 10,000 feet elevation, Haleakala is above the clouds with spectacular 360 degree views of Maui. Many times, the Big Island is visible from here too.
